The KBM Doctoral Program conducted Community Service in Margodadi (Part 1)

The Media and Cultural Studies (KBM) Doctoral Program has been conducting Community Service from May to October 2024. As a manifestation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi), the KBM Doctoral Program, in collaboration with BUMKAL Margodadi, Kapanewon Seyegan, Sleman Regency, organized a series of training sessions on Web Management & Refreshment and Profiling for the Development of Tourism Villages.

The first activity carried out was a discussion and consolidation with the management of BUMKAL Margodadi, held on Saturday (May 4). During the meeting, Drs. Kir Haryana, M.Pd., as Director of BUMKAL Margodadi, conveyed several issues that are currently the focus of the BUMKAL Margodadi management, particularly related to their plans to develop an agrotourism village to improve the welfare of the surrounding community. Dr. Budiawan, Chair of the KBM Doctoral Program, explained the possible areas of cooperation with the KBM Doctoral Program, considering the limited capacity and human resources of the KBM. It was agreed that the KBM Doctoral Program would focus on profiling regional potential and refreshing as well as managing the BUMKAL Margodadi website.

Discussion and consolidation with BUMKAL Margodadi

Based on the previous meeting and consolidation results, the KBM Doctoral Program then formed a proposal team consisting of Dr. Budiawan as chair, with members Adhani Juniasyaroh Emha, M.A., Kathryn Widhiyanti, M.Cs., Yanuarita Kusuma Permata Sari, M.Med.Kom., Prof. Dr. Juliasih S.U., Prof. Dr. Partini, S.U., and Dr. Fidelis Indriarto Diponegoro. The next step was to carry out a Training of Trainers (ToT), which was attended by the proposal team and several students who would be involved in the activities. The Training of Trainers agenda included inviting a practitioner, Hafidh Ali Basha, S.T., to provide input related to the profiling process that would be conducted.
