The Study Program of the Media and Cultural Studies (KBM) welcomed new Master’s and Doctoral students from the 2024 cohort with an event titled KBM Hore-Hore, which not only featured an introduction session but also the launch of the latest book collaboration between KBM students and lecturers, titled “Identitas Budaya dan Masyarakat Berjejaring.” The event took place at The Bean Garden Coffee and Eatery on Friday (13/9), starting with a welcoming speech from Dr. Budiawan, Head of the KBM Doctoral Program. This was followed by the book launch. Ratna Noviani, S.I.P., M.Si., PhD, Head of the KBM Master’s Program and editor of the book, invited the authors to come on stage and briefly share insights about their contributions to the book. Uji Prasetya from Kanisius Publishing expressed his impressions of publishing this book, which he found intriguing because it bravely addresses taboo, bold, and different issues.
During the introduction session, the new students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts, both Master’s and Doctoral, were grouped together to get acquainted and bond with each other. To strengthen connections among students, participants engaged in a group game called “savior” and created cheers and chants as an introduction activity. Stara, a 2023 Doctoral student, shared her thoughts on the event, saying, “It brings harmony among all cohorts, both Master’s and Doctoral.”
