Research Methods Workshop and Monitoring of Doctoral Program Proposals & Dissertations

Held at the Grand Keisha Hotel on Friday (Sept 20), a workshop on research methods and monitoring of proposals and dissertations for the KBM doctoral program took place. Attended by 19 students, the event ran smoothly. A total of 11 PhD students from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts presented the progress of their dissertation research. Following this, Prof. Juliasih, S.U. and Prof. Dr. Partini delivered presentations on research methods. Prof. Juliasih, S.U. explained textual research methods and logical reasoning, while Prof. Dr. Partini showcased several images representing thinking paradigms, followed by an explanation of empirical research methods.

After the lunch break, PhD students from the 2023 cohort presented their research dissertation proposal plans. These eight students had various research topics, such as the political economy of media in local private TV digitalization, androgyny discourse on TikTok celebrities, immersive reality experiences in museums in Yogyakarta, and others. This event is expected to help students overcome research challenges they may currently be facing.
