The KBM Master’s Program Conducts Community Service (Part 1)

The Media and Cultural Studies (KBM) Master’s Program has been conducting Community Service from May to October 2024. As a manifestation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi), the KBM Master’s Program, in collaboration with BUMKAL Margodadi, Kapanewon Seyegan, Sleman Regency, organized a series of training sessions on Social Media Management & Refreshment and Tourism Package for the Development of Tourism Villages.

The first activity carried out was a discussion and consolidation with the management of BUMKAL Margodadi, held on Saturday (May 4). During the meeting, Drs. Kir Haryana, M.Pd., Director of BUMKAL Margodadi, conveyed several issues that are currently the focus of the BUMKAL Margodadi management, particularly related to their plans to develop an agrotourism village to improve the welfare of the surrounding community. Elok Santi Jesica, representing the KBM Master’s Program, explained the potential areas for collaboration with the KBM Master’s Program, considering the limited capacity and resources of the KBM program. It was agreed that the KBM Master’s Program would focus on creating tourism packages and refreshing as well as managing BUMKAL Margodadi’s social media.

Discussion and Consolidation with the Management of BUMKAL Margodadi

Based on the previous meetings and consolidations, the KBM Master’s Program formed a proposal team consisting of Ratna Noviani, S.I.P., M.Si., PhD., as chair, with members Elok Santi Jesica, S.Pd., M.A., Dr. Arifah Rahmawati, Dr. Duddy Roesmara Donna, S.E., M.Si., Shafira Karima Ardanareswari, S.S., Mukhammad Abdul Aziz, S.S., Leonardo B. Yudhapratama, S.S., and Fransisca Putri Gunawan, M.A.

The next step was to carry out a Training of Trainers (ToT), attended by the proposal team and several students who would be involved in the activities. One of the highlights of the Training of Trainers agenda was the invitation of a practitioner, Hafidh Ali Basha, S.T., to provide insights related to the profiling that would be conducted.
