A warm and friendly atmosphere filled the KBM Potluck event held on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (WIB) at the Graduate School Canteen, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Carrying the simple theme “Bring your favorite food,” the event served as an informal gathering space for lecturers, students, and administrative staff of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Media and Cultural Studies (KBM). A variety of homemade dishes and favorite snacks were shared on a communal table, ranging from assorted cakes and light snacks to main dishes voluntarily brought by the participants. The potluck concept allowed everyone to share not only food but also stories and experiences.

Unlike the atmosphere of classrooms, seminars, or formal meetings, the KBM Potluck created a relaxed moment that strengthened relationships among members of the academic community. Easygoing conversations and laughter reflected how KBM is built not only through academic discourse but also through warm togetherness. The event also served as an informal space for reflection following a series of academic activities at the beginning of the semester. Conversations that flowed around the dining table illustrated the spirit of collegiality and solidarity that forms an important part of the KBM academic ecosystem. The KBM Potluck was also enlivened by group games that further strengthened the bonds among students, lecturers, and staff.

The KBM Potluck reaffirmed the importance of building a community that is not only intellectually productive but also socially cohesive. Through this simple gathering, the values of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and a sense of belonging to the study program were further reinforced. The event was carried out with great enthusiasm and is hoped to become a continuing tradition of togetherness in the future.
