Training of Trainers of the KBM’s Community Service Program Team

In 2024, the Master’s and Doctoral Study Programs in Media and Cultural Studies (KBM) will conduct a Community Service Program (PKM) in Margodadi Village, Seyegan District, Sleman Regency, the Special Province of Yogyakarta. In collaboration with Margodadi’s Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMKAL), the KBM program is promoting a village tourism planning initiative aimed at equitable distribution and improvement of local community welfare.

To prepare the PKM team for fieldwork, on Friday (June 28), the KBM program invited a speaker, practitioner Hafidh Ali Basha, S.T. from Biyota Farm, to explain the requirements for mapping and profiling regional potential for developing an agrotourism village. During the Training of Trainers activity, the PKM KBM team enthusiastically discussed with Mas Hafidh, as he is familiarly called, about the necessary data and data collection techniques for planning the area. Mas Hafidh explained that Margodadi Village not only has the potential to become an agrotourism village but also possesses historical tourism potential that can be developed, particularly related to tracing the footsteps of Sunan Kalijaga in Margodadi. The discussions and material obtained in the Training of Trainers activity will serve as provisions for the PKM team to carry out activities from July to October 2024.
